I am Dr. Gayathri V. Raman and I am a Board Certified Family Practitioner at the St.Louis Medical Clinic. I am writing to you today to tell you about "Reflections of a Woman". The idea for "Reflections" was born out of my own struggles with hypothyroidism.
I did my medical training at the University of Missouri-Kansas City medical program and graduated in 1998. I then did a family medicine residency at St.John’s Mercy Medical Center. Once I completed my residency, I spent one year working at St.John’s Mercy Emergency Room. I then established my practice at The St.Louis Medical Clinic and over the last 7 years developed a passion for Women’s Health and Cosmetic Medicine.
Many years ago I started having symptoms of hypothyroidism and it left me with such an imbalance in my life. But after much research and self-reflection, I found out how to balance myself physically and spiritually. I discovered and learned what bio-identical hormones were and how to use them to fit my way of life. I started using it for my patients and many of them started to feel better. As my patients started feeling better, they took the time to put themselves first and to better care for themselves, both inside and out.
In addition to a full time practice, I have had the great fortune of lending my services to Fox 2 News by contributing to regular health segments.
On March 28,2009, I was humbled with the honor of the “Woman of the Year” award given by Zonta International. Zonta is an organization that emphasizes and encourages the role women play in society. It teaches women no matter how big or small the part, we all encompass the global phenomena of womanhood.
My second job includes that of being a mom to a son Anshul and daughter Nithya. I have a wonderful husband,Venky, who keeps me grounded and is my “Xanax” when life gets to be too much.
In my spare time, I am an avid fitness buff and have continued to follow my childhood passion of Indian classical dancing. I am blessed in being able to share this experience with my daughter by taking classes together.
It is my wish that every women find balance in their lives.
“IF YOU FIND BALANCE IN YOUR LIFE-YOUR LIFE WILL ALWAYS BALANCE YOU”
