FAQ

Q: Will Healthcare Reform Affect Me?

A: With all the changes in our current healthcare system, doctors are being pressured into caring for higher volumes of patients in order for their business to remain successful. This reality strains the doctor/patient relationship and the doctor’s ability to provide quality healthcare.

A recent survey by the American Association of Medical Colleges showed:

  • An estimated 20 million new Americans now qualify for insurance
  • By 2020, the nation will need an additional 91,500 doctors to meet medical demand
  • 43% of respondents (doctors) are considering retiring within the next five years as a result of new laws

An increase in insured Americans PLUS a decrease in primary care physicians creates:

  • Difficulty accessing your physician
  • Longer wait-times for call-backs and office visits
  • Likely to be seen by a PA or NP, and not your physician
  • One of 25-30 patients being seen that day
  • Increased incidence for medical errors
  • Focus is on treating and not preventing

With Personalized Healthcare, doctors are better able to devote more time and resources to patient care. By developing a reduced, selective patient load, Dr. Raman is able to provide you the personalized care that you deserve.

Q: What is Personalized Health Care?

A: It is an innovative new health care program in which the physician devotes greater time to the patient's individual needs. The physician emphasizes the highest quality health care as well as service and convenience, all designed to keep you in optimum health.

Q: What are the advantages of being part of Dr. Raman's Personalized Medical Practice?

A: You receive personalized health care from Dr. Raman as your primary physician. She is available to you 24 hours a day, seven days a week through her personal cell phone, texting, and email. When coming in for appointments, you will be seen promptly and follow-up appointments will be made at that time. Her office will answer the phones and call you back in a timely manner if you leave a message on the voicemail.

Q: Is Personalized Health Care for me?

A: Yes! Personalized health care is for anyone who demands a higher quality of healthcare, whether it be timeliness of scheduling, attention afforded during appointments, security and trust in a primary care physician dedicated to your health goals or necessity for chronic condition care that determines your needs.

Q: What is the cost to participate in Dr. Raman's Personalized Medical Practice?

A: There is a monthly contract fee of $125-$150 depending on the program, to be part of Dr. Raman's practice. Your contract agreement and initial payment are due at the time of your first visit.

Q: Will my medical insurance or Medicare cover the contract fee?

A: No. This fee will not be covered by any insurance plan.

Q: Will this fee be covered by my Flexible Spending Account (FSA), Health Savings Account (HSA) or Cafeteria Plan?

A: Please check with your carrier. We have found that many plans will allow you to use those pre-tax dollars to cover the annual fee.

Q: Will Dr. Raman still bill for my medical visits?

A: Yes. Dr. Raman will still bill for her medical services to your insurance plan. All co-pays and deductibles will still be your responsibility.

Q: How can Dr. Raman spend more time with me than my current doctor?

A: Dr. Raman has limited her program to 400 patients instead of 3000 patients like a traditional medical practice would carry. When this limit is reached, anyone wishing to be her patient is placed on a waiting list. This allows her to give you the personalized health care that you deserve.
